Olivia Mae Walker Nelms, age 94, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010. She was born August 15, 1916 in Nash County. She was the daughter of the late Edgar Poe and Vivian Whitaker Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years Alexander Nelms, Sr.; brother, John Ashley Walker; son, John Allen Nelms; daughter, Patricia Fay Sealy; granddaughter, Wanda Nelms; and grandsons, John Thomas Nelms and Frankie Walters, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Wilma Walters and husband Frank of Rocky Mount; sons, Alex Nelms, Jr. of Rocky Mount and Clifton Nelms and wife Ann of Nashville; 22 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
The family received friends from 1 to 2 pm Friday, December 17, 2010 at Johnson Funerals and Cremation on English Road. Graveside services were held at 2:30 pm Friday, December 17, 2010 at Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount with Rev. Todd Greene officiating.
