Emma Price Burgess Wood passed away September 28, 2012 at Breckenridge Retirement Center. She was born November 21, 1924 in Edgecombe County.

She is preceded in death by parents Jim and Maude Dickens Price, sister Mollie Griffin, and brothers Jessie Price and James (Bo) Price and husband Alton E. Wood.

She is survived by daughters Patricia Grooms of Rocky Mount and Nancy Burgess of Florida, sons Willis Burgess, Jr. and wife Kay of Centerville and Jimmy Burgess and wife Rebecca of Rocky Mount; six  grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 30, 2012  at Johnson Funerals and Cremations on English Road, Rocky Mount with Rev. Bill Coffey officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
