Steven Edward Luper Sr., 74, of Rocky Mount, passed away Friday February 8, 2013 at Nash General Hospital.  He was born June 9, 1938 in Nash County to the late Richard Edward Luper and Marion Barkley Luper. 

He is survived by his wife, Eva Buck Luper; sons, Steve Luper Jr. of Rocky Mount and daughter-in-law, Connie of Nashville; Joseph Luper and wife Carla of Nashville; Patrick Luper and wife Meredith of Nashville; daughter, Gay Luper; 6 grandchildren; brother, Roger Luper and wife Patricia of Salem; sisters, Janet Gurganus and husband Ed of Rocky Mount, Carol Barnhill and husband Mike of Rocky Mount, Norma Stockhowe and husband George of Chesapeake, Va., Donna Collins and husband Mark of Chesterfield, Va., and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service was held Monday February 11, 2013   in the chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert R. Boone Jr. officiating.
