Shirley Gurganus Braswell passed away August 1, 2017. Born August, 8, 1938 to Alex Gurganus and Linda Whitley Gurganus. She would have been 79 years old on August 8th.

She was preceded in death by both parents, brothers Cecil Gurganus, Milton "Buster" Gurganus, McDonald Gurganus, a sister Rose Marie Edwards, and a grandson Kelly Eugene Braswell.

She is survived by brother Robert Earl Gurganus; sisters Ethel Farmer, Barbara Burgess, and the father of her children Ed Braswell.

She is survived by her children Chuck Braswell and wife Glenda Braswell, Gary Braswell and wife Debbie Braswell, Scott Braswell and wife Brenda Braswell, Penny Barbour and husband Dana Barbour all of Nashville; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Moss officiating.
