Nell Melvin Jones, 84, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017. She was born in Nash County to the late Amos and Sula Melvin. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Carvey Jones and a brother Lewis Melvin.

She is survived by her son Gregory A. Jones and wife Linda; daughter Helen Lamm and husband Franklin; two grandchildren; brother, Alton Melvin and wife Ann.

A visitation will be held 6-8pm on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Moore officiating. Flowers will be accepted or donation may be made to "Educational Fund" for Olivia and Elizabeth Lamm, 8906 Chantilly Rd., Spring Hope, NC 27882 or to First Baptist Church 111 N. Walnut St. Spring Hope, NC 27882.
