Benjamin Christopher "Chris" Young, age 66, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018. Born in Charleston, SC on April 5, 1951, he was the son of the late Dr. John Perry Young and Evelyn Hedgepeth Young. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Willie Hedgepeth.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dianne Rogers Young; daughters, Heather Young Funk (Paul), and Hollie Young Landwher (Robert); five grandchildren; sisters, Connie Young, Winkie Young, and Bette Hund; and brother, Jack Young.

A funeral mass was held Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Rocky Mount with Father Tim Meares officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
