Kenneth Earl Matthews, 88, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018. He was born August 1, 1929 in Nash County to the late Joseph D. Matthews and Bertha Braswell Matthews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Ruby Mae Moss Matthews; sister Ozell Edwards; brothers Van, Wilbur and George Matthews.
He is survived by his sons Joel and Richard Matthews (Vandy); two grandchildren; sister Edith Parker.
Visitation will be held 6-7:00pm on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Momeyer Baptist Church with a service following at 7:00 pm at the church. Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Momeyer Baptist Church 4967 Momeyer Way Nashville, NC 27856.
