Virginia Barden Morton of Rocky Mount passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018. She was born in Johnston County, NC to the late Walter Leon Barden and Clyde Smith Barden. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Jesse C. Morton; brother, William L. Barden; sister, Faye B. Horton; uncle, T. C. Robbins; aunt, Alma Robbins; and beloved dog, Adam Riley Morton.

She is survived by her daughters, Jessica Jane Morton of Rocky Mount and Elizabeth P. "Liz" Morton of Reston, VA; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren=; sister-in-law, Dorothy E. Barden of Cary; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at First Christian Church of Rocky Mount, 1101 West Haven Blvd., Rocky Mount with the Pastor Michael McHarg and Dr. John Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery. A visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall of First Christian Church.
