Charles Wesley "Buck" Dickens, Jr., age 85, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Born in Nash County on December 21, 1932, he was the son of the late Charles Wesley Dickens, Sr. and Lessie Breedlove Dickens. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Peggie Joyner Dickens; sister, Ruth Dickens Robbins; brother, Marice Clifton Dickens; son-in-law, Robert Michael Everette, Sr.

He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Dickens Everette and fiancé, Jerry Barnes, Jr., of Rocky Mount; son, Charles Wesley Dickens, III and wife, Deborah Powers Dickens, of Rocky Mount; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Benvenue Baptist Church, Rocky Mount with Pastor Mike Creekmore and Parker Phillips officiating. Entombment followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Buck's name to Benvenue Baptist Church Building Fund, 2464 Benvenue Road, Rocky Mount, NC.
