Doris "Jean" Walker, age 70, of Whitakers, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Born in Nash County on September 26, 1947, she was the daughter of the late William Jackson Walker and Irene Fisher Walker.

She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Gurganus of Rocky Mount and Patsy Randall of Battleboro; and caregiver and friend for 37 years, Judith Marchak of Whitakers.

Services will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Richard Gurganus and Pastor Troy Smith officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 2 - 2:45 p.m. prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
