Doris Ann Boone Brown, 82, of Rocky Mount, passed away on August 6, 2018. Doris was born on July 8, 1936, to the late Eddie C. and Sarah Ward Boone, and grew up in the White Oak community on her family's farm. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, former Nash County Sheriff, Franklin Delano Brown.

She is survived by two sons, Franklin Delano Brown, Jr., and wife Gina of Wilmington, and Scott Boone Brown and wife Kim of Wendell; three grandchildren; two brothers, Albert Boone and wife Pat and Phil Boone and wife Carol of Rocky Mount, brother-in-law, Joe Shearon of Louisburg, brother-in-law, Doug Brown of Wilson, sister-in-law Annaleen Brown of Bailey, and many nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Shearon of Louisburg.

Services will be held Friday, August 10, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Sunset Avenue Baptist Church, 3732 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount with Dr. Robin Fisher officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Nashville. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
