Helen Matthews Bass, 99, passed away Monday October 8, 2018. She was born March 1, 1919 in Nash County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Thomas Bass, Jr.

She is survived by two sons, John Thomas Bass and wife Ava, Leon Kirkland Bass and wife Vicky; one brother, Gerald Matthews and wife Dorothy; one sister, Colette Nasco; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 10 - 11 a.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. in the Chapel with Rev. Clay Leonard and Rev. Paul Arnold officiating. Burial will be at Matthews Family Cemetery of Momeyer.
