Vera Millar Mangum, 97, years old, passed away on February 23, 2010. She was married to George Powers Millar until his death in 1966 and years later to Harold Mangum until his death. She was born in Hollister on August 2, 1912. Her parents were John William Sexton and Rosa Mabry. She is survived by her children, Ann M. Parker and George S. Millar, and Linda Millar, daughter-in-law; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at Johnson Funerals and Cremations on Sunset Avenue on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 11:00 with Rev. Bill Grisham officiating. The family received friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615 or to the charity of ones choice.
