God looks beyond our faults, and our pride!

I have to give credit to my former pastor in Georgia for this devotion. Several years ago, he preached a sermon on the prodigal son that inspired me to think about the "other son" in the parable. His slant on the meaning of this parable was both fresh and provoking.
A number of the newer bible translations refer to this parable as the "Parable of the Lost Son" rather than the "Parable of the Prodigal Son". You need to read the parable in Luke 15 and ask yourself who really is the "lost son" mentioned here?

Karma continues to make its case

I can remember many times when I was younger, my mama would come into the living room and say, "Why don't you find us something good to watch?"
It was a short task in those days. We had five channels on "regular" TV and if I held my tongue just right and wiggled the tin foil on the antenna a certain way, another two on UHF.
About time I'd get interested in a show, I'd look over at my mama and she'd be slumped in the chair, "checked out."

It's Blooming weekend - after a two year pause

Members of Cub Scouts Pack and Scouts Troop #37 visited the Charters of Freedom at the Nash County Courthouse Monday afternoon. Though I got delayed and couldn't make it over to see the entire group, thankfully photos are being provided for a future edition of The Graphic.
I did make it in time to catch the Scout Master along with a parent and child who were still standing at the display.
Upon arrival I could tell they were all still admiring the documents which are housed in the brick and mortar cases.
