Phyllis Carol “Teeny” Shelton, 74, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011. She was born May 6, 1936 in Nash County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Bruce Linwood Taylor and Cora Louise Layton Taylor. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Jesse “Bud” Linwood Taylor.
She is survived by her daughters, Bonita C. Barlow and special friend Guy Jordan, and Wanda G. Price and husband Randy; son, Dennis G. Greene and wife Bonnie; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Juanita Williams of Wilton; brother, Danny Taylor (Alice) of Zebulon.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Johnson Funerals and Cremations on English Road with Rev. Daniel Parker officiating. The family received friends immediately following the services until 9 p.m. Committal services will be held 11 am Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Pineview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Baker Family Ministries, PO Box 1139, Whitakers, NC 27891 or Community Home Care & Hospice, 3124 Zebulon Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
