Mary “Magdalene” Proctor Harris, 77, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013. She was born in Edgecombe County on December 17, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Sterling Thomas Proctor and Ada Braswell Proctor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Curtis Harris, Jr.; and sister Evangeline Proctor Gouge Miller of Rocky Mount.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Harris Bunn and husband, Danny of Rocky Mount; one grandson; two brothers, Steven Thomas Proctor and wife, Frances of Elm City and Wilton Earl Proctor of Rocky Mount.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. David Taylor officiating.
