SPRING HOPE - Standley Eugene Bass, 82, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014. He was born April 4, 1931 in Nash County to the late Goodman and Alvarhada Manning Bass. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Earl Bass and brother-in-law, Curtis Batchelor.
Survivors include wife of 59 years, Paula Swain Bass, one son, Lance Bass and wife Courtney, one daughter, Lori Mills and husband Timmy, one brother, Ronald Bass and wife Martha, two sisters; Mozelle Batchelor, Nan Bissette and husband Jerry, sister-in-law, Rosalene Bass, three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Burial followed at Oakdale Cemetery of Spring Hope.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Heart Association @ 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA. 23060-9979 or the American Cancer Society @ 9630 A Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
