Martha K. Jones, 89, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014.  She was born in Edgecombe County September 8, 1924 to the late John Walter  and Annie Evans Kennedy.  In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Jones; her brothers, Charlie, Aaron, and Bill Kennedy and sisters, Sue Lindsey, Maggie Johnson and Annie Mae Williams.
 She is survived by her sons, Charles Jones and wife, Marsha; Ronnie Jones, James Jones; daughters, Diane Patterson, Debbie Carpenter and husband, Jeff, Patricia Dawes and husband, Keith, Doris Moore; sisters, Doris Griffin, Louise Shearin, Evelyn Summerlin; twenty grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
 A service was held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Taylor’s Chapel Church, 1933 Sandy Cross Rd., Nashville with Charles Medlin officiating.  Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
