SHIRLEY RUTH JOYNER SPEIGHT

Shirley Ruth Joyner Speight, 70, passed away, Friday, September 5, 2014. She was born in Nash County on December 21, 1943. She was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Joyner, two brothers, Willie and Delton Joyner.
She is survived by her mother, Bettie Mae Tant, her husband, George R. Speight; two sons, George Thomas Speight and wife Regina, Samuel Brooks Speight; daughter, Donna S. Lynn and husband Steven; brother, Herbert Joyner; sister, Doris Farrar; five grandchildren.      
A funeral service was held Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Faith Family Worship Center  with the Rev. Gerald Parker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nash County Animal Shelter, 921 First St. ext. Nashville, NC 27856, Hospice and Palliative Care of Nash General Hospital, 2460 Curtis Ellis Dr. Rocky Mount, NC 27804, or Faith Family Worship Center, 4839 Redman Road, Rocky Mount NC 27803.
