Stephen David Watson, age 65, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017. Born in Edgecombe County on April 14, 1952, he was the son of the late Thomas Speight Watson and Virginia Gupton Watson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Tommy Watson and Kenneth Albert Watson.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patty "Pat" Carpenter Watson; son, Stephen "Thomas" Watson of Rocky Mount; and daughter, Michelle Watson Carroll and husband, Travis, of Zebulon; one grandchild; brother, Robert Watson and wife, Mary-Katherine "Kay", of Winston-Salem; sister-in-law, Phyllis "Cookie" Needham Watson of Rocky Mount; and three nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Peoples Fellowship Baptist Church, 11972 East NC Hwy. 97, Rocky Mount with the Pastor Dave Grogan officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Pineview Cemetery.
