Hilda Rochelle Melvin, age 75, of Sharpsburg, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Born in Cumberland County, NC on November 12, 1942, she was the daughter of Ralph Melvin and Ruth Starling Melvin. She was preceded in death by her sons, Charles Brent Langley and Christopher Scott Langley; father, Ralph Melvin; and sister, Annette Viverette.

She is survived by her mother, Ruth Starling Melvin of Rocky Mount; son, Ross Langley of Sharpsburg, and daughter, Jennifer Smith and husband, Larry, of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Langley of Rocky Mount; several nieces and a nephew.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Pastor Gary Wood officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
