CHARLIE CLEVELAND SLEDGE JR.
LOUISBURG - Charlie Cleveland Sledge Sr., 82, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at his home. He was born June 3, 1925. The Sledge family are of English descent. Mr. Sledge was the son of the late Paul Alfred and Annie Wood Sledge, and was a native of Franklin county.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence P. Sledge.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Rachel Whitley Sledge; three daughters, Peggie Alford (Jimmie), Judy Gaskins (Bill) and Patricia Ford (Dan); one son, Charlie Sledge Jr. (Judy); sister, Ann Woodard (Bruce); brother, Paul Sledge Jr. (Elsie); nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

The family received friends at Spring Hope Funeral Home Thursday, May 15. Funeral services were conducted Friday, May 16, at Holly Grove Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetary.
