ROCKY MOUNT - Sally Joyner Weaver, age 79, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020. Born in Edgecombe County on June 30, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Joyner and Rosa Lee Mitchell Joyner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester Eugene Weaver.
She is survived by her two daughters, Marsha Lynn Weaver of Rocky Mount and Donna Weaver Gilles (Phillip Gilles) of Bokeelia, Florida; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; sister, Linda Joyner Browning of Tarboro; and sister-in-law, Vivian Bottoms (Bobby) of Rocky Mount.
A private graveside service will be held on a later date at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum with Pastor Wray Wheeless officiating.
