ELM CITY - Melody Starr Godwin, age 56, passed away August 18, 2023.

She is survived by her husband of thirty-five years, Danny Gregory Godwin; children, April Lynnsey Forrest (Nicholas) of Wentzville, MO and Samuel Gregory Godwin (Brandi Deans) of Sandy Cross; parents, Norman and Judy Joyner of Nashville; brother, Randy Joyner (Diane) of Grandy; two grandchildren,; mother and father-in-law, Dan and June Godwin; sister-in-law, Lynn Wilson (Cloyce); brother-in-law, Mark Godwin (Ginger), all of Wilson; aunts, uncles and several nieces, nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Nash Street NW, Wilson. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
