NASHVILLE - Queen Ester Jones Gardner, of Nashville, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC.

A visitation was held on Thursday, June 25, 2009 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Morgan Funerals and Cremations.

The funeral was held on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Union Hill Baptist Church in Nashville.

Burial was at Oakland Cemetery in Nashville.

Gardner was predeceased by her father, Jesse L. Jones and her husband, Johnnie L. Gardner.

Survivors include her mother, Selma Jones, of Nashville; three sons, Earl and Donnell Jones and Dennis Gardner, all of Rocky Mount; one daughter, Angela Gardner of Rocky Mount; three brothers, James Jones of Atlanta, GA, Jesse Jones of Fayetteville, NC and Randolph Jones of Rocky Mount; and three sisters, Beatrice Silver of Nashville, Bernice Whitley of Winston-Salem and Yvonne Williams of Spring Hope.
