ORA LEE SHERROD ABERNATHY
NASHVILLE - Ora Lee Sherrod Abernathy, 75, passed away, Saturday, April 3, 2010. She was born September 11, 1934 in Nash County. She was the daughter of the late Sammie and Sadie Mae Worrell Sherrod. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Cecil Abernathy.

She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy A. Mitchell and husband James of Selma, three brothers, Joe Sherrod of Wilmington, Tommy Sherrod of Columbia, SC, and Wayne Sherrod of Spring Hope, five sisters, Eunice Bryant of Hampton, VA., Margie Dorsey of Spring Hope, Bertie Mae Bryant Walker of Elm City, Edith Clemmons of Enfield and Barbara Brantley of Wendell, two and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Sunday, April 4, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral Services were Monday, April 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with the Rev. Reuben Batchelor and Rev. Gerald Parker officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
