SHARPSBURG - Hattie Rackley Sykes, 81, of Sharpsburg passed away Friday, July 21, 2006.

Mrs. Sykes was born February 2, 1925 to the late Bennie and Annie Matthews Rackley.
Hattie is preceded in death by her husband, John William Sykes and brother, Harold Rackley.

Surviving: one daughter, Ann Peedin and husband, Rupert of Pine Level, North Carolina; two sons, John Sykes and wife, Faye and Tommy Sykes and wife, Cathy, all of Rocky Mount; one sister, Annis Gray Rackley of Wilson, And three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service was held on Sunday, July 23, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, Rocky Mount, North Carolina, the Rev. Billy Webb officiated.
