Joseph Hayes, known as "Spider", age 68, passed away April 2, 2025.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 12, at 11a.m. at the Clifton Chapel Disciple Church in Spring Hope. Interment will follow at Spring Hope Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 3-6 p.m. at William Toney's Funeral Home in Spring Hope.

He is survived by his brother, James "Bo" Hayes (Annie) of Spring Hope; cousins reared in the home as siblings, Otto Hayes (Doris) of Spring Hope and Sarah Worsley (David) of Rocky Mount; siblings, Lee Tucker (Cindy), James Burgess (Carolyn), Helen Nicholson, Patricia Melton and Linda Burgess all of Spring Hope, Jerry Burgess (Diane) of Middlesex, John Burgess and Linwood Burgess of Kentucky; other relatives and friends.
