ROCKY MOUNT - Miriam Hayes "Sue," age 87, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Born in Nash County on December 16, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Cleo Maude Collins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Ray Hayes, and brother, Alton Viverette.

Sue is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Holt (Mike) and Katherine Abel (Buck); and one granchild.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, Rocky Mount with Rev. Bruce Brumfield officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Miriam's memory to a charity of your choice.
