Spring Hope shooting related to home invasion; NCSO Sheriff's deputy on routine admin leave

SPRING HOPE - The State Bureau of Investigation has been called in, and a Nash County Sheriff's Deputy placed on routine administrative leave, after a shooting this morning outside of Spring Hope that left a man in critical condition.
Deputy Sgt. Miguel Salazar, a seven-year veteran NCSO officer, responded to a call at about 7:30 a.m. May 23 at a residence located at 9698 US 64 Alternate, Spring Hope, according to Sheriff Keith Stone, who conducted a press conference about the incident at 10:15 a.m.
