Governor Cooper returns home for farewell address

ROCKY MOUNT - Roy Cooper, North Carolina's 75th Governor, came home to say his official goodbyes, delivering his Farewell Address Dec. 18 to a packed Brown Auditorium at Nash Community College.
Christopher Edmonston of White Memorial Presbyterian Church of Raleigh, Cooper's pastor for the past 13 years and originally from Tarboro, gave the invocation, praising the Governor, "a son of our state," for his "wisdom, integrity and intelligence," and prayed that future leaders learn from Cooper's experience and that his family's days ahead "be filled with hope and happiness."
