CASTALIA - Roger Allen Parker, Sr., passed away Monday, February 14, 2011. He was born January 8, 1939 in Nash County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Onslow B. Parker, Jr. and Annie Mae Burgess Parker and his brother Bobby Ray Parker.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Lucretia Morgan Parker, two sons, Roger Allen Parker, Jr. and wife Vickie of Nashville, Stephen Craig Parker and wife Tammy of Nashville, one daughter, Gwendolyn Kaye Parker Metcalf of Princeton; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, James Harold Parker and wife Betty of Rocky Mount; two sisters, Doris Faye Parker Gose of Mooresburg, Tennessee, Betty Jean Parker Pearson and husband Bennie of Lucama; two sister-in-laws, Carolyn Morgan of Rocky Mount, and Lillie Jane Parker, Bean Station, Tennessee, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel West and Rev. Chris Matchem officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
