George W. “Buck” Davis, Jr., age 88, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. He was born in Wilson, on October 20, 1924 to the late Reverend George W. Davis and Sarah Ida Bryant Davis. He was preceded in death by fifteen older siblings and many dear nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Betty Sue Harris Davis; daughter, Susan Davis Beddingfield; son, George “Bo” Sullivan-Davis and his wife Jane; daughter, Sally Davis Whitley; daughter, Whitney Davis and her husband Sam Marsh; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
A memorial service was held March 1, 2013 at Sunset Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Roberson and Rev. Neil Woodcock officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Nash General or Sunset Avenue Baptist Church.
