MARIE LOIS THROWER DIXON
Marie Lois Thrower Dixon, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Born in Halifax County on May 13, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Perry Thrower and Nolie Butts Thrower. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann Walston and sister, Willie Mae Leary.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ambler Dixon; daughters, Katherine Gardner and husband Elton of Richmond VA and Shelby Poythress and husband Dennis of Knightdale; son-in-law, Wally Walston of Red Oak; and 6 grandchildren.

A service to remember Marie was held  Friday, July 19, 2013 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home.  Burial was  at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sunset Baptist Church, 3732 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount NC 27804 or Friends of Hospice – Nash General, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount NC 27804.
