BATTLEBORO —Funeral services for Bernice Ann Thorne Mills, 79, who died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at New Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Travis J. Lockett officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant Grove Church cemetery.
Surviving: spouse, George W. Mills of the home; step-daughters, Patricia Mills of Whitakers, Peggy Mills and Carolyn Mills, both of Hollister, Nanny Mills of Sharpsburg; step-sons, Sammy Mills of Cary, Donald Mills (Darlene) of Hollister, Robert Mills of Battleboro; sisters, Martha Holmes (Dr. Allen Holmes) of Winston-Salem, Betty Crawford (Ira) of Murieeta CA., Christine Rorie (Sylvester) of Monrovia CA., Ella Daniels of Norfolk, VA., Sylvia Lockett of Rocky Mount; brothers, Milton Thorne (Yvonne) of Sunny Vale, CA., Carlton Mills of Orlando, FL., Lewis Mills of Baltimore, MD.; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
