Willie “Woody” Haywood Cockrell, 61, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014. He was born November 10, 1952 in Johnston County to Elbert Cockrell, Sr. and Marie Pate Cockrell. He was preceded in death by his father, Elbert Cockrell, Sr. and two brothers, Randy and Elbert Cockrell Jr.
He is survived by his mother, Marie Cockrell; brothers, Mike (Sue), David (Carla) and Bobby(Jean) Cockrell and a sister, Joanne Keen. A memorial service was held Saturday, October 4, 2014 in the mausoleum at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
