MARGARET JEFFREYS BRANTLEY
SPRING HOPE, NC - Margaret Jeffreys Brantley, 84, died Thursday, January 31, 2008. She was born May 23, 1923 in Granville County, daughter of the late William E. and Eva Cooper Jeffreys, Jr. She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Richard Thomas Jeffreys and Ruth O. Jeffreys and sister, Evelyn Jeffreys Battle (wife of Hugh H. Battle, Jr.).

Her husband, Edwin Hassell Brantley preceded her in death on January 17, 2008.

Survivors include her daughter, Peg Brantley Joyner of Wake Forest; sons, Edwin Brantley and Richard Brantley both of Spring Hope; grandchildren, Merl Wayne Joyner (Jennifer), Matthew Brantley Joyner (Jerri-Anne), Noah Joseph Joyner (Stephanie), Edwin H. Brantley, III (Heba), Margaret Katherine (Katie) Brantley and Kristen Ezzell Surles (Albert). Also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service washeld at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount with Rev. Scott Dodson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Brantley’s name to Alzheimer’s Eastern NC Chapter, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 220, Raleigh, N. C. 27605-1351.
