Gloria "Gutty" Louise Frye Whitley, 89, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016. She was born in Wake County May 2, 1927 to the late Coy Wilford and Mary Shaw Frye. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wilford "Wimpy" Frye.

She is survived by her husband of 10 years, O.L. "Pete" Whitley; daughter, Mary Anne Singhas (Randy); 2 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; step children, Mary Grace Daughtridge (Tommy), Sylvia Batchelor (Jerry), A. B. Whitley, Charlie Whitley (Donna), Kevin Whitley (Jenny) and six step grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Pridgen and Rev. Mike Coggin officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
