Thomas Edward Hunt, Sr., age 78, passed away January 16, 2017. He was born October 25, 1938 in Wilson County and grew up in Elm City. He was the son of the late James Charles Hunt and Della Williams Hunt and preceded in death by his brother Charles Milton Hunt "Buddy" of St. Petersburg, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Tilghman Hunt of the home; his children, Elizabeth Mayo Bachmann (Paul) of Lynchburg, Va., Thomas Edward Hunt, Jr. "Tommy" (Michele), Nancy Lynn Vick (Randy) of Rocky Mount and Bradford Tilghman Hunt of New York City; 11 grandchildren; sister, Ruth Brantley of Rocky Mount and brother, Norris of Hampton, Va.; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Entombment will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park in the Mausoleum. Visitation will follow service.
