Jimmie "Jim" Braxton Sherrod, 77, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017. He was born in Nash County on November 1, 1939 to the late Jimmie Daniel and Alma Lamm Sherrod. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Emogene Murray.

Jim is survived by his wife Nancy P. Sherrod; brother John E. Sherrod; sisters, Joan Gay (Rex) and Jowyanne Stoddard (Charles); several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Moss and Rev. Dale Eatmon officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Free Union Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Spring Hope.
