BAILEY - Joan Edwards Ray, 69, of Bailey passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019. Her funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Joyner's Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey. The Rev. Larry Massey will officiate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 2 - 3:15 at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
Joan is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Theron Cephus Ray of the home; daughter, Melissa Torbert and husband, Arnold of Holly Springs; sons, Shelton Ray and wife, Cheryl of Pinetops, Douglas Ray and wife, Caren of Newport News, Virginia, James Clifton Ray and wife, Dawn of Bailey and Bobby Ray and wife, Laura of Louisburg; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Vickie Raper and husband, Rex of Wilson and Jean Weaver and husband, Richard of Kenly and her brother, W.C. "Chuck" Edwards of Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Helen Bass Edwards.
