ROCKY MOUNT - Frances Robbins Melvin, age 89, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021. Born in Wilson County on April 5, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Robbins and Gertie Edwards Robbins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Louis Melvin; and 13 brothers and sisters.

Frances is survived by her children, Stanley Gunter of Winston-Salem, Vickie DeSalsi (Peter) of Rocky Mount, Jackie Gunter of Raleigh, Von Lowe (Walker) of Knightdale, and Wendy Drake Hinson (Mark) of Red Oak; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Ellen Robbins; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
