ROCKY MOUNT - James Ray Manning, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Born in Nash County on September 2, 1935, he was the son of the late George De Lone Manning and Bessie Mae Williams Manning.

James is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy Wheeler Manning; his son, Michael R. Manning and wife, Michelle; and his grandchildren,.

Visitation is Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 12:00-1:30 p.m. with the funeral service folling at 2 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
