NASHVILLE - Doris Riggs, age 85, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022, . Born in Gastonia on April 5, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Carrie Threlkeld. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Gerald Kile Riggs Sr.; their son, Gerald Kile Riggs Jr.; as well as six brothers and five sisters.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Dawn Rhodes and husband, Vernon, of Rocky Mount, Joy Eatmon and husband, Jeff, of Rocky Mount, and Carrie Craig and sons, Wyatt and Garrett Craig, who shared her home in Nashville; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Rocky Mount. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. prior to the service in the First Baptist Church Family Ministry Center. |
