Janie Bissette Joyner, 96, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023. She was born November 23, 1926, in Nash County to the late Eddie and Mary Morgan Bissette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Redmond Joyner; brothers Lawrence and Elton Bissette; infant sister, Dorothy.
Janie is survived by her son, Billy Joyner (Brenda); daughters, Phyllis Dickinson (Keith), and Lynn Griffin (David); brother, Edward Bissette; sister, Trudy Matthews; sister-in-law, Helen Bissette; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation with family and friends will be Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home with a funeral service to be held at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Rev. Richie Hogg and Rev. Jeff Westerfield officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery of Spring Hope.
