ROCKY MOUNT - Roy Richard Allen, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. Born in Oklahoma County, OK on October 23, 1927, he was the son of the late Roy Fontaine Allen and Anna Mildred Silvey Allen. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Allen; and his second wife, Ann Allen.

Roy is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jeanette Pittman Allen; his daughter, Dr. Cathy Slater and husband, Dr. Douglas Slater, of Rocky Mount; his sons, Wade Allen and wife, LeAnne, of Raleigh, and Clark Allen and wife, Phanthip, of Morehead City; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; step children; other relatives and many close friends.

A funeral service was held June 16, 2023 at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
