James Willie Hughes, Jr. passed away May 16, 2024. He was born March 6, 1946 to the late James Willie Hughes, Sr. and Doris Kight Hughes. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, JoAnn Hughes.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth Hampton; daughter, Jessica MacGregor and fiancé Shan Pierce; brothers, Robert Hughes and wife Kathy, and Bo Hughes and wife Marlene; sisters, Star Merritt, Peenie McCance, and Patty Pate and husband Buddy; one grandchild; special friend, Vickie May; an aunt and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 24, at 2 pm. at the Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Moss officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. |
