ROCKY MOUNT - Funeral services for Berta Mae Carter, age 97, who died on Friday, August 9, 2024, will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 1 p.m. from the Mt. Zion First Baptist Church in Rocky Mount with Pastor Shirley McFarland Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Gethsemane Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Neal (Ronnie) of Rocky Mount, Vanessa Carter Ray (Bradley) of Clayton; three sons, George Carter, Jr. (Gale) of Wilson, James Carter of Rocky Mount, Maurice Carter of Springdale, MD; one sister, Ellen Battle of Wilson; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Friday from 12-1 p.m. at Mt. Zion First Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. |
