ROCKY MOUNT - Jesse "Earl" Rose, age 77, passed away January 13, 2025.

Earl was born in Nash County on August 5, 1947 to David Franklin and Annie Braswell Rose. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Kay Rose; brothers, Marshall Rose (Doris), Herschel Rose (Carol), and Dennis Rose; sister Margaret Rose Eatman Tucker, and brothers-in-law, Ronnie Lewis and Bennett Lewis (Marjorie).

Earl is survived by his sons, John David Rose and Daniel Lee Rose (Melinda), five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-granddaughter due in May 2025; his sister-in-law, Betty Rose Smith, brothers-in-law, Jimmy Lewis (Lennie), Johnny Lewis, and Pete Lewis (Lesa), many nieces and nephews and a host of family friends and other extended relatives.

A service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Memorial Baptist Church, 5399 Old Wilson Road, Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 5 p.m.
