NASHVILLE - Developers for the Williams Grove subdivision, owned by the C.T. Williams Corp. and located between the south end of Ava Drive and north end of Juniper Road, Bailey, jumped a final hurdle this month, getting conditional rezoning approval near an environmentally sensitive wetlands tract that will add 24 residential lots. The project was approved by Nash County commissioners in a split vote of 5-2 on Jan. 6.

Ripe Revival plans tabled for second time (relevance: 56%, date: Feb 5, 2025)
NASHVILLE - For the second time in two months, the Nashville town council has voted to table a decision on rezoning two chunks of land off Cooke Road in the light of heavy local opposition to proposed land improvements for a Ripe Revival food processing and educational complex.
The council voted unanimously Feb. 4 to table while asking two requests of Will Kornegay, Ripe Revival founder and CEO: for more research to be done about how to mitigate potential biohazard risks to a nearby poultry farm and for Kornegay to address potential issues of noise and light pollution from a planned outdoor amphitheater at the complex.

Nash planning board ties vote for Middlesex rezoning (relevance: 46.5%, date: Feb 5, 2025)
NASHVILLE - A planned public hearing Feb. 3rd on a rezoning request for a new 90-home subdivision on Old Lewis School Board, Middlesex, was postponed Monday, with the project future uncertain. The application by Todd Glover asked for conditional rezoning from R-40 to RA-30-CZ.
Adam Tyson, Nash County Planning Director, told county commissioners that it was his understanding that the project developer had asked commissioners to delay the public hearing and their consideration, commenting that "the applicant has had a shorter than typical period of time to process the comments and concerns that the members of the public made at the (Jan. 21) planning board meeting."

NASHVILLE - A new policy addition that would permit public school students to voluntarily attend off-campus religious instruction during school hours has been drafted, with Nash County School Board members directed to screen it for potential revisions and possible adoption at the next full board meeting March 3.
